ਕੜਾਕੇ ਦੀ ਠੰਢ ਕਾਰਨ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਫੈਸਲਾ:
ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਪੈ ਰਹੀ ਕੜਾਕੇ ਦੀ ਠੰਢ ਅਤੇ ਧੁੰਦ ਨੂੰ ਧਿਆਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖਦਿਆਂ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਹਤ ਨੂੰ ਪਹਿਲ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਸਕੂਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਰਜ਼ੀ ਤਬਦੀਲੀ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਫੈਸਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਮੌਸਮ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਤਾਪਮਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਰ ਗਿਰਾਵਟ ਦੀ ਚੇਤਾਵਨੀ ਜਾਰੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਕਦਮ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਹੁਕਮਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ 16 ਜਨਵਰੀ ਤੋਂ 21 ਜਨਵਰੀ 2026 ਤੱਕ ਸੂਬੇ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ, ਨਿੱਜੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਸਕੂਲ ਨਵੀਂ ਸਮਾਂ-ਸਾਰਣੀ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਚਲਾਏ ਜਾਣਗੇ। ਨਵੀਂ ਵਿਵਸਥਾ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ ਪ੍ਰਾਇਮਰੀ ਸਕੂਲ ਸਵੇਰੇ 10 ਵਜੇ ਤੋਂ ਦੁਪਹਿਰ 3 ਵਜੇ ਤੱਕ ਲੱਗਣਗੇ, ਜਦਕਿ ਮਿਡਲ, ਹਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਸਕੈਂਡਰੀ ਸਕੂਲ ਸਵੇਰੇ 10 ਵਜੇ ਤੋਂ ਦੁਪਹਿਰ 3:20 ਵਜੇ ਤੱਕ ਚਲਾਏ ਜਾਣਗੇ।
ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਕੂਲ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਪਸ਼ਟ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਨਵੇਂ ਸਮਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਖ਼ਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇ। ਇਸਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਮਾਪਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਗਰਮ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਪਹਿਨਾ ਕੇ ਸਕੂਲ ਭੇਜਣ ਅਤੇ ਠੰਢ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਅ ਲਈ ਲੋੜੀਂਦੇ ਉਪਾਅ ਕਰਨ।
ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਫੈਸਲੇ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ, ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਪਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਰਾਹਤ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਮੌਸਮ ਸਧਾਰਨ ਹੋਣ ’ਤੇ ਅਗਲੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਜਾਰੀ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ।

Punjab Government Revises School Timings Amid Intense Cold
Keeping in view the continuing severe cold and dense fog across Punjab, the Punjab Government has decided to make a temporary change in school timings, giving priority to the safety and health of students. The Meteorological Department has also issued a warning of a further drop in temperatures in the coming days, prompting the government to take this step.
According to official orders, from January 16 to January 21, 2026, all government, private, and aided schools in the state will function according to the revised schedule. As per the new arrangement, primary schools will operate from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, while middle, high, and senior secondary schools will run from 10:00 AM to 3:20 PM.
The Education Department has issued clear instructions to all school managements to strictly follow the revised timings. Parents have also been advised to ensure that children are sent to school wearing warm clothes and that necessary precautions are taken to protect them from the cold.
This decision by the government has brought relief to students, teachers, and parents. Further orders will be issued once weather conditions improve.
