ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਭਗਵੰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਾਨ ਦੇ ਨੇਤ੍ਰਿਤਵ ਹੇਠ ਕੈਬਿਨੇਟ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਸੰਜੀਵ ਅਰੋੜਾ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਡੌਗ ਸੈਂਕਚੁਅਰੀ ਦੀ ਸਥਾਪਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ। ਇਹ ਸੈਂਕਚੁਅਰੀ ਬੇਸਹਾਰਾ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤਮੰਦ ਕੁੱਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ, ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਇਲਾਜ ਨੂੰ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਨਾਲ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
ਲਗਭਗ 500 ਕੁੱਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਮਰੱਥਾ ਵਾਲਾ ਇਹ ਪਾਇਲਟ ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟ ਡੌਗ ਬਾਈਟ ਦੀਆਂ ਘਟਨਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਘਟਾਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਪਸ਼ੂ-ਕਲਿਆਣ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਵੱਲ ਇੱਕ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਕਦਮ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟ ਦੇ ਤਹਿਤ ਕੁੱਤਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਰਹਿਣ, ਇਲਾਜ ਅਤੇ ਰਿਹੈਬਿਲਿਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਸੁਵਿਧਾਵਾਂ ਉਪਲਬਧ ਕਰਵਾਈਆਂ ਜਾਣਗੀਆਂ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਮੇਅਰ ਸ੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਇੰਦਰਜੀਤ ਕੌਰ, ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਆਦਿਤਿਆ ਡੇਚਵਾਲ, ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਹਿਮਾਂਸ਼ੂ ਜੈਨ, ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਮੇਅਰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਰਾਕੇਸ਼ ਪਰਾਸ਼ਰ ਅਤੇ ਕੌਂਸਲਰ ਸ੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਇੰਦੂ ਮੁਨੀਸ਼ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਵੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਰਹੇ। ਦੱਸਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਕਿ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸ ਮਾਡਲ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਾਗੂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।

Punjab’s First Dog Sanctuary Established in Ludhiana Under the Leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora established Punjab’s first Dog Sanctuary in Ludhiana. The sanctuary has been set up with the objective of ensuring care, protection, and medical treatment for stray and needy dogs.
This pilot project, with a capacity to accommodate around 500 dogs, is being considered a significant step toward reducing dog bite incidents and promoting animal welfare. The facility will provide safe shelter, medical care, and rehabilitation for dogs in need.
On this occasion, Mayor Mrs. Inderjit Kaur, Commissioner Mr. Aditya Dachwal, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Himanshu Jain, Senior Deputy Mayor Mr. Rakesh Parashar, and Councillor Mrs. Indu Munish Shah were also present. It was stated that this model will be implemented across Punjab in the coming time.
