समराला में एक दर्दनाक हादसे में प्रतिबंधित चाइना डोर की चपेट में आकर 15 वर्षीय छात्र तरनजोत सिंह की मौत हो गई। यह घटना उस समय हुई जब वह अपने चचेरे भाई प्रभजोत के साथ स्कूल से घर लौट रहा था। लुधियाना-चंडीगढ़ हाईवे पर सड़क के ऊपर लटक रही चाइना डोर अचानक उनके गले में फंस गई, जिससे तरनजोत की मौके पर ही मौत हो गई, जबकि उसका भाई गंभीर रूप से घायल हो गया।
तरनजोत 10वीं कक्षा का छात्र था और अपने माता-पिता का इकलौता बेटा था। इस हादसे के बाद परिवार में मातम पसरा हुआ है। परिजनों ने इस मौत के लिए प्रशासन की लापरवाही को जिम्मेदार ठहराया है और प्रतिबंध के बावजूद चाइना डोर की खुलेआम मौजूदगी पर सवाल उठाए हैं।
वहीं समराला पुलिस का कहना है कि वे चाइना डोर के खिलाफ लगातार चेकिंग और कार्रवाई कर रहे हैं। पुलिस अधिकारियों के अनुसार, जिस डोर से हादसा हुआ वह पहले से ही वहां फंसी हुई थी और उस समय कोई पतंग नहीं उड़ा रहा था। मामले की जांच की जा रही है।

Deadly menace of Chinese kite string in Samrala, 15-year-old student dies a tragic death
In a tragic incident in Samrala, a 15-year-old student, Taranjot Singh, lost his life after coming in contact with a banned Chinese kite string. The incident occurred when he was returning home from school with his cousin, Prabhjot. A Chinese kite string hanging across the road on the Ludhiana–Chandigarh highway suddenly got entangled around their necks, resulting in Taranjot’s death on the spot, while his cousin was seriously injured.
Taranjot was a Class 10 student and the only son of his parents. The family has been plunged into grief following the incident. The bereaved family has held the administration responsible for the tragedy, questioning the open availability of Chinese kite string despite the ban.
Meanwhile, Samrala police stated that they are continuously carrying out checks and taking action against the use of Chinese kite string. According to police officials, the string involved in the accident was already stuck at the spot, and no one was flying a kite at the time. An investigation into the matter is underway.
