रात और सुबह के समय घने कोहरे ने जनजीवन को खासा प्रभावित किया। सड़कों पर दृश्यता काफी कम रही, जिससे यातायात में परेशानी देखने को मिली। हालांकि दिन में धूप खिली, लेकिन ठंडी हवाओं के चलते ठिठुरन बनी रही और लोगों को राहत नहीं मिल सकी।
मौसम विभाग के अनुसार, पश्चिमी विक्षोभ के प्रभाव के कारण तापमान में यह गिरावट दर्ज की गई है। विशेषज्ञों का अनुमान है कि आने वाले दिनों में सुबह और देर रात ठंड और कोहरा और अधिक बढ़ सकता है।
प्रशासन ने वाहन चालकों को सावधानी बरतने और धीमी गति से वाहन चलाने की सलाह दी है। वहीं, बुजुर्गों और बच्चों को ठंड से बचाने के लिए विशेष सतर्कता अपनाने की अपील की गई है।

Ludhiana is experiencing an intense spell of cold as winter tightens its grip on the city. Over the past 24 hours, the minimum temperature dropped to 5 degrees Celsius, marking one of the coldest nights of January and forcing residents to stay indoors.
Dense fog during the night and early morning hours significantly reduced visibility on roads, causing inconvenience to commuters. Although sunlight appeared during the day, chilly winds kept the cold conditions persistent, offering little relief to people.
According to the Meteorological Department, the drop in temperature is due to the impact of a western disturbance. Weather experts have warned that cold conditions along with fog may intensify further during early mornings and late nights in the coming days.
Authorities have advised vehicle drivers to maintain low speeds and exercise caution while driving in foggy conditions. Special appeals have also been made to ensure the safety of elderly people and children by protecting them adequately from the cold.
