बॉलीवुड की दिग्गज गायिका और सांस्कृतिक आइकॉन आशा भोसले का शनिवार रात बारह अप्रैल दो हजार छब्बीस को बानबे वर्ष की आयु में मुंबई के ब्रीच कैंडी हॉस्पिटल में दिल का दौरा पड़ने से निधन हो गया। आठ दशकों के करियर में बारह हजार से ज्यादा गाने रिकॉर्ड करने वाली आशा जी को दादासाहेब फाल्के पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया था। प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने उन्हें श्रद्धांजलि देते हुए कहा कि उनकी असाधारण संगीतमय यात्रा ने हमारी सांस्कृतिक विरासत को समृद्ध किया है और दुनिया भर के अनगिनत दिलों को छुआ। शाहरुख खान ने एक्स पर लिखा कि उनकी आवाज़ भारतीय सिनेमा के स्तंभों में से एक रही और सदियों तक गूंजती रहेगी।

End of an era: Legendary singer Asha Bhosle passes away.
Legendary Bollywood singer and cultural icon Asha Bhosle passed away on Saturday night, April 12, 2026, at the age of 92 at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital after suffering a heart attack. Asha ji, who recorded more than 12,000 songs in a career spanning eight decades, was honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to her, saying that her extraordinary musical journey enriched our cultural heritage and touched countless hearts across the world. Shah Rukh Khan wrote on X that her voice was one of the pillars of Indian cinema and will echo for centuries.
