ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਸਰੂਪਾਂ ਦੇ ਗੁੰਮ ਹੋਣ ਦੇ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਵਾਰ ਫਿਰ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਹਲਕਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ। ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਸਿੱਖ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਸੰਸਥਾਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦੀ ਕਾਰਗੁਜ਼ਾਰੀ ‘ਤੇ ਸਵਾਲ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਅਤੇ ਠੋਸ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਸੰਸਥਾਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕਈ ਸਾਲ ਬੀਤ ਜਾਣ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ ਵੀ ਇਸ ਸੰਵੇਦਨਸ਼ੀਲ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਵੱਡੀ ਪ੍ਰਗਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕੀ।
ਸਿੱਖ ਅਗੂਆਂ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਲਗਭਗ 328 ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਸਰੂਪਾਂ ਦੀ ਗੁਮਸ਼ੁਦਗੀ ਸਿੱਖ ਕੌਮ ਦੀਆਂ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਭਾਵਨਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗਹਿਰਾ ਝਟਕਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਰੋਪ ਲਗਾਇਆ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਣਾਈ ਗਈ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਜਾਂਚ ਟੀਮ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ ਵੀ ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਦੀ ਗਿਰਫ਼ਤਾਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਈ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਸਵਾਲ ਉੱਠਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਜਾਂਚ ਕਿਉਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੱਧ ਰਹੀ।
ਸੰਸਥਾਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ‘ਤੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਗਾਇਆ ਕਿ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਗੰਭੀਰਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਅਤੇ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹੇ ਆਮ ਘੁੰਮ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਮਾਮਲਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਲਾਪਰਵਾਹੀ ਨਾਲ ਸਮਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਸੰਤੋਸ਼ ਵਧਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ‘ਤੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਘਟਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਿੱਖ ਸੰਸਥਾਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਇਹ ਸਪਸ਼ਟ ਕਰੇ ਕਿ ਸਰੂਪ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਗੁੰਮ ਹੋਏ, ਕਿਸ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਜੇ ਤੱਕ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਪਤਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗ ਸਕਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਘਟਨਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕਣ ਲਈ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਸਰੂਪਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਲਈ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਨੀਤੀਆਂ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ ਜਾਣ।
ਅੰਤ ਵਿੱਚ, ਸਿੱਖ ਅਗੂਆਂ ਨੇ ਚੇਤਾਵਨੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਕਿ ਜੇਕਰ ਜਲਦੀ ਹੀ ਦੋਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਸੂਬਾ ਪੱਧਰ ‘ਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀਪੂਰਨ ਅੰਦੋਲਨ ਛੇੜਣ ਲਈ ਮਜਬੂਰ ਹੋਣਗੇ।
The issue of missing holy saroops of Sri Guru Granth Sahib has once again sparked serious concern among Sikh religious and social organisations in Punjab. Expressing strong dissatisfaction over the slow pace of investigation, Sikh bodies have demanded immediate and concrete action from the government and police authorities.
According to Sikh leaders, the disappearance of nearly 328 holy saroops has deeply hurt the religious sentiments of the Sikh community. Despite the formation of a special investigation team, no major breakthrough has been reported so far, raising serious questions about the effectiveness and seriousness of the probe.
Sikh organisations alleged that police inaction has allowed those responsible to remain at large. They stated that such negligence in a sensitive religious matter not only undermines faith in the justice system but also fuels resentment and unrest within the community.
The organisations have demanded full transparency in the investigation, seeking clear answers on how the saroops went missing, who was responsible for their custody, and why the authorities have failed to trace them so far. They also stressed the need for accountability at all levels and strict punishment for those found guilty.
In addition, Sikh bodies urged the government to introduce stronger safeguards and clear policies for the preservation and protection of holy saroops to prevent such incidents in the future. They emphasised that religious matters must be handled with utmost seriousness and sensitivity.
Warning of possible agitation, Sikh leaders said that if decisive action is not taken soon, they would be compelled to launch statewide peaceful protests to press for justice. Observers believe that the government’s response in the coming days will be crucial in restoring confidence and addressing the growing anger within the Sikh community.
