लुधियाना, 12 फरवरी — पंजाब राज्य अल्पसंख्यक आयोग के चेयरमैन जतिंदर मसीह गौरव ने ईसाई, मुस्लिम, बौद्ध, जैन, पारसी तथा अन्य अल्पसंख्यक समुदायों के अधिकारों, कल्याण और समग्र विकास की सुरक्षा के प्रति अपनी पूर्ण प्रतिबद्धता दोहराई।
एक शिकायत निवारण बैठक को संबोधित करते हुए उन्होंने कहा कि आयोग का उद्देश्य अल्पसंख्यक समुदायों के संवैधानिक अधिकारों की रक्षा करना और उनकी आवाज़ को उच्च स्तर तक पहुंचाना है। उन्होंने कहा कि अल्पसंख्यक समुदायों ने पंजाब और देश की सामाजिक एकता, सांस्कृतिक विविधता और आर्थिक विकास में महत्वपूर्ण योगदान दिया है।
खुली सुनवाई के दौरान बड़ी संख्या में शिकायतें आयोग के समक्ष प्रस्तुत की गईं। प्रमुख मुद्दों में जमीन और संपत्तियों पर अवैध कब्जे, ईसाई और मुस्लिम कब्रिस्तानों की सुरक्षा एवं रखरखाव से जुड़ी समस्याएं, बैंक ऋण तथा अन्य वित्तीय कठिनाइयां शामिल रहीं।
इन मामलों को गंभीरता से लेते हुए चेयरमैन जतिंदर मसीह गौरव ने बैठक में उपस्थित जिला प्रशासन के अधिकारियों को स्पष्ट और सख्त निर्देश दिए कि प्रत्येक शिकायत की गहन जांच कर 15 दिनों के भीतर समाधान सुनिश्चित किया जाए तथा प्रत्येक मामले की कार्रवाई रिपोर्ट आयोग को भेजी जाए।
अल्पसंख्यक समुदायों को त्वरित सहायता उपलब्ध कराने के उद्देश्य से चेयरमैन ने 24 घंटे सक्रिय हेल्पलाइन नंबर 95637-20000 जारी किया। उन्होंने कहा कि किसी भी समस्या या मार्गदर्शन के लिए इस नंबर पर संपर्क किया जा सकता है। साथ ही उन्होंने अल्पसंख्यक समुदायों के सदस्यों को सीधे मिलकर अपनी समस्याएं रखने का भी आमंत्रण दिया और आयोग के कार्यालय का पता साझा किया — पंजाब राज्य अल्पसंख्यक आयोग, चौथी मंजिल, टावर नंबर 4, फॉरेस्ट कॉम्प्लेक्स, सेक्टर 68, एसएएस नगर (मोहाली)।

Chairman of Punjab State Minority Commission Reaffirms Commitment to Minority Welfare, Launches Helpline 95637-20000
Ludhiana, 12 February — Jatinder Masih Gaurav, Chairman of the Punjab State Minority Commission, reaffirmed his full commitment to safeguarding the rights, welfare, and overall prosperity of Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi, and other minority communities.
Addressing a Grievance Redressal Meeting, he stated that the commission exists to protect the constitutional rights of minorities and to amplify their voices at the highest levels. He highlighted that minority communities have significantly contributed to Punjab and the nation’s social unity, cultural diversity, and economic growth.
During the open hearing, a large number of complaints were submitted before the commission. Major concerns included illegal occupation of lands and properties, issues related to the security and maintenance of Christian and Muslim cemeteries, bank loan difficulties, and other financial challenges.
Taking these matters seriously, Chairman Jatinder Masih Gaurav issued strict instructions to district administration officials present at the meeting. He directed them to thoroughly investigate each complaint and ensure complete resolution within 15 days, with action-taken reports submitted to the commission.
To provide immediate assistance to minority communities, the Chairman announced a dedicated 24-hour helpline number: 95637-20000. He encouraged individuals facing any difficulty to reach out through the helpline. He also invited members of minority communities to meet him directly at the commission’s office located at 4th Floor, Tower No. 4, Forest Complex, Sector 68, SAS Nagar (Mohali).
