पुरानी रंजिश के चलते दो गुटों के बीच क्रॉस फायरिंग का मामला सामने आया है। इस दौरान एक युवक के अपहरण की भी सूचना मिली, जिसे बाद में आरोपियों ने पीएयू के पास छोड़ दिया।
पुलिस ने त्वरित कार्रवाई करते हुए मुख्य आरोपी शुभम उर्फ सैम उर्फ पिक्की को अवैध .32 बोर पिस्तौल के साथ गिरफ्तार कर लिया है। आरोपी के खिलाफ पहले से भी कई आपराधिक मामले दर्ज बताए जा रहे हैं।
पुलिस ने इस मामले में 4 नामजद और 10 से 15 अज्ञात लोगों के खिलाफ हत्या के प्रयास, अपहरण और आर्म्स एक्ट समेत विभिन्न धाराओं के तहत मामला दर्ज कर जांच शुरू कर दी है।

Cross-firing between two rival groups over an old enmity in Ludhiana; youth abducted; main accused arrested with an illegal pistol.
A case of cross-firing between two groups has come to light due to an old rivalry. During the incident, a young man was also reportedly abducted, but the accused later left him near PAU.
Acting swiftly, the police arrested the main accused, Shubham alias Sam alias Pikki, and recovered an illegal .32 bore pistol from his possession. The accused is also reported to have multiple criminal cases already registered against him.
Police have registered a case against 4 named accused and 10–15 unidentified persons under various sections, including attempt to murder, kidnapping, and the Arms Act, and have started an investigation into the matter.
