Ludhiana के ऐतिहासिक गांव फोर्ट रायपुर में आज से रूरल ओलंपिक्स-2026 का आधिकारिक शुभारंभ हो गया है। उपायुक्त Himanshu Jain ने जानकारी देते हुए बताया कि Punjab सरकार के नेतृत्व में ये खेल 17 से 19 फरवरी तक आयोजित किए जाएंगे।
मुख्यमंत्री Bhagwant Mann के नेतृत्व वाली पंजाब सरकार ने आयोजन की सभी तैयारियां पूरी कर ली हैं। लंबे समय बाद बैलगाड़ी दौड़ तीनों दिन मुख्य आकर्षण का केंद्र रहेगी। इसके अलावा हॉकी, कबड्डी, एथलेटिक्स और पारंपरिक खेलों का भी आयोजन किया जाएगा।
17 फरवरी को मुख्य स्टेडियम में सुबह 9 बजे से हॉकी (ओपन कैटेगरी) मुकाबले शुरू होंगे। साथ ही 1500 मीटर, 400 मीटर, 60 मीटर दौड़ सहित विभिन्न एथलेटिक्स स्पर्धाएं आयोजित होंगी। दोपहर 12 बजे से शाम तक बैलगाड़ी दौड़ आयोजित की जाएगी।
18 फरवरी को एस.एस.एस स्कूल किला रायपुर में हॉकी सेमीफाइनल, कबड्डी (सर्कल और नेशनल स्टाइल), शॉटपुट, 100 मीटर दौड़, लंबी कूद और रस्साकशी जैसी प्रतियोगिताएं होंगी।
19 फरवरी को फाइनल मुकाबलों के साथ कबड्डी अंडर-17 गर्ल्स मैच, 200 मीटर दौड़, हाई जंप, 800 मीटर, बाइक रेस, 65+, 75+, 80+ आयु वर्ग की दौड़ और ट्रॉली लोडिंग-अनलोडिंग जैसे पारंपरिक मुकाबले होंगे। दोपहर में फिर से बैलगाड़ी दौड़ आकर्षण का केंद्र रहेगी।
खेलों में भाग लेने वाले सभी खिलाड़ियों के लिए जन्म प्रमाण पत्र, आधार कार्ड और बैंक विवरण लाना अनिवार्य किया गया है। तीन दिवसीय आयोजन के दौरान लोक गायन के खुले मंच पर प्रसिद्ध कलाकार दर्शकों का मनोरंजन करेंगे।
उपायुक्त हिमांशु जैन ने कहा कि पंजाब में प्रतिभा की कोई कमी नहीं है, जरूरत है उसे पहचानने और निखारने की। फोर्ट रायपुर का यह आयोजन भविष्य के ओलंपिक चैंपियंस तैयार करने में मददगार साबित होगा।

Fort Raipur Rural Olympics-2026 Kicks Off, Three Days of Sporting Extravaganza Begin
The historic village of Fort Raipur in Ludhiana has officially launched the Rural Olympics-2026 from February 17 to 19. Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain announced that the Punjab Government has made full arrangements for the successful conduct of the mega sporting event.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the event aims to revive Punjab’s rich sporting culture. After a long gap, bullock cart races will remain the major attraction across all three days. Hockey, kabaddi, athletics, and traditional rural games are also part of the schedule.
On February 17, hockey (open category) matches will begin at 9 AM at the main stadium, followed by various athletics events including 1500m, 400m, and 60m races. Bullock cart races will take place from noon onwards.
February 18 will witness hockey semifinals, kabaddi (circle and national style), shotput, 100m races, long jump, and tug of war at SSS School Kila Raipur.
The final day, February 19, will feature kabaddi finals, 200m races, high jump, 800m finals, bike races, senior citizen races (65+, 75+, 80+), trolley loading-unloading competitions, and the much-awaited bullock cart races.
All participants must carry their birth certificates, Aadhaar cards, and bank details. During the three-day event, renowned folk artists will entertain spectators in the open arena.
Officials emphasized that Punjab is committed to nurturing sporting talent and reviving its glory, with Fort Raipur set to inspire and shape future Olympic champions.
