ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਗੈਰ-ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਸਪਲਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਕਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਠੱਲ੍ਹ ਪਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਸ. ਹਰਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਵਿਰਕ, ਐਸਐਸਪੀ ਜਲੰਧਰ ਦਿਹਾਤੀ ਦੇ ਦਿਸ਼ਾ-ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਜਲੰਧਰ ਦਿਹਾਤੀ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਇਲਾਕਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ CASO (Cordon and Search Operation) ਚਲਾਏ ਗਏ।
ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੁਹਿੰਮਾਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਟੀਮਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਸ਼ੱਕੀ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਾਰੀਕੀ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਂਚ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ। ਸ਼ੱਕੀ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਤਸਦੀਕ, ਵਾਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਚੈਕਿੰਗ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਵੇਦਨਸ਼ੀਲ ਇਲਾਕਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦੀ ਮੌਜੂਦਗੀ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।
ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਪਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਸਬ-ਡਵੀਜ਼ਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਡੀਐਸਪੀਜ਼ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਰਾਨੀ ਹੇਠ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ। ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਖੁਦ ਮੌਕੇ ’ਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਕੇ ਚੈਕਿੰਗ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਦਾ ਜਾਇਜ਼ਾ ਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਟੀਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਅਮਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਲਈ ਲੋੜੀਂਦੇ ਦਿਸ਼ਾ-ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ ਜਾਰੀ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ।
CASO ਦੌਰਾਨ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਚਿੰਨ੍ਹਿਤ ਹੌਟਸਪੌਟਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਖਾਲੀ ਮਕਾਨਾਂ, ਸੁੰਨਸਾਨ ਥਾਵਾਂ, ਬੱਸ ਅੱਡਿਆਂ, ਰੇਲਵੇ ਸਟੇਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਸੰਵੇਦਨਸ਼ੀਲ ਸਥਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਤੌਰ ’ਤੇ ਕਵਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਡੂੰਘਾਈ ਨਾਲ ਤਲਾਸ਼ੀ ਅਤੇ ਚੈਕਿੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਇਹ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ ਕਿ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਕਰੀ ਜਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਗੈਰ-ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀ ਲਈ ਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੋਵੇ।
ਇਸ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਜਲੰਧਰ ਦਿਹਾਤੀ ਦੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਥਾਣਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ NDPS ਐਕਟ ਤਹਿਤ 04 ਮੁਕੱਦਮੇ ਦਰਜ ਕਰਕੇ 04 ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸੇ ਦਿਨ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।
ਜਲੰਧਰ ਦਿਹਾਤੀ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਛਾਣ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਸ਼ਾ ਛੁਡਾਊ ਕੇਂਦਰਾਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਇਲਾਜ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਨਰਵਾਸ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਮੁੜ ਸਮਾਜ ਦੀ ਮੁੱਖ ਧਾਰਾ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜ ਸਕਣ। ਇਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਕਰੀ, ਸਪਲਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਤਸਕਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
SSP ਜਲੰਧਰ ਦਿਹਾਤੀ, ਸ. ਹਰਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਵਿਰਕ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜਲੰਧਰ ਦਿਹਾਤੀ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਜਾਰੀ ਹੈ। ਨਸ਼ਾ ਤਸਕਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਤੱਤਾਂ ’ਤੇ ਨੇੜਿਓਂ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਰੱਖਣ ਲਈ ਸੰਵੇਦਨਸ਼ੀਲ ਇਲਾਕਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਚੈਕਿੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਆਪਰੇਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਖੁਦ ਮੌਕੇ ’ਤੇ ਨਿਗਰਾਨੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਜਲੰਧਰ ਦਿਹਾਤੀ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਅਚਨਚੇਤ ਚੈਕਿੰਗ ਮੁਹਿੰਮਾਂ ਜਾਰੀ ਰੱਖੀਆਂ ਜਾਣਗੀਆਂ। ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਕਰੀ ਜਾਂ ਸਪਲਾਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ।

Jalandhar Rural Police Intensifies Action Against Drugs, Special Checking Conducted in Sensitive Areas
To curb the illegal supply and sale of drugs, Jalandhar Rural Police conducted special Cordon and Search Operations (CASO) at various locations across the district under the directions of S. Harvinder Singh Virk, SSP Jalandhar Rural.
During these operations, police teams thoroughly checked suspected locations associated with drug-related activities. Verification of suspicious persons, checking of vehicles and enhanced police presence in sensitive areas were also ensured.
The operations were conducted under the supervision of the respective DSPs of different sub-divisions. Senior police officers also visited the areas personally, reviewed the checking operations and issued necessary directions to the police teams to ensure effective execution of the drive.
During the CASO, apart from identified drug hotspots, vacant houses, deserted locations, bus stands, railway stations and other sensitive places were specifically covered. Thorough searches and checking were carried out to ensure that such places were not being used for the sale of drugs or any other illegal activities.
During this special drive, 04 FIRs were registered under the NDPS Act at different police stations of Jalandhar Rural, and 04 accused persons were arrested on the same day in these cases.
Jalandhar Rural Police is also identifying persons involved in drug abuse and encouraging them to undergo treatment and rehabilitation through de-addiction centres, so that they can return to the mainstream of society. At the same time, strict legal action is being taken against persons involved in the sale, supply and trafficking of drugs.
SSP Jalandhar Rural, S. Harvinder Singh Virk, stated that the action against drugs by Jalandhar Rural Police is continuing on a sustained basis. Special checking is being carried out in sensitive areas to keep a close watch on elements involved in drug trafficking. He further stated that senior police officers are personally monitoring such operations in the field to make the action more effective.
He further stated that Jalandhar Rural Police will continue to conduct such special and surprise checking drives in the coming days. No person involved in the sale or supply of drugs will be spared, and strict action will be taken against them as per law.
