अमृतसर के जंडियाला गुरु में आज नगर काउंसिल प्रधान का चुनाव सर्वसम्मति से संपन्न हुआ। वार्ड नंबर 1 से विजेता आम आदमी पार्टी के पार्षद सतिंदर सिंह को नगर काउंसिल जंडियाला गुरु का 11वां प्रधान चुना गया। सतिंदर सिंह पंजाब के कैबिनेट मंत्री हरभजन सिंह ईटीओ के छोटे भाई हैं।
नगर काउंसिल के 15 वार्डों में से आम आदमी पार्टी ने 13 सीटें जीतकर स्पष्ट बहुमत हासिल किया था, जबकि एक-एक सीट कांग्रेस और शिरोमणि अकाली दल के खाते में गई थी। प्रधान पद के चुनाव के दौरान अमन विरक को उपप्रधान नियुक्त किया गया।
चुनाव प्रक्रिया एसडीएम अमृतसर की निगरानी में करवाई गई और प्रशासन की ओर से सुरक्षा के पुख्ता इंतजाम किए गए। इस चुनाव के साथ प्रधान पद को लेकर चल रही सभी चर्चाओं पर भी विराम लग गया।

The Jandiala Guru Municipal Council has got its 11th President; Satinder Singh, younger brother of Cabinet Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO, has been unanimously elected. With the Aam Aadmi Party holding a majority, all speculation regarding the post of President has been put to rest.
Amritsar’s Jandiala Guru today witnessed the unanimous election of the Municipal Council President. Satinder Singh, an Aam Aadmi Party councillor elected from Ward No. 1, was chosen as the 11th President of the Jandiala Guru Municipal Council. Satinder Singh is the younger brother of Punjab Cabinet Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO.
Out of the 15 wards in the Municipal Council, the Aam Aadmi Party had secured a clear majority by winning 13 seats, while one seat each went to the Congress and the Shiromani Akali Dal. During the election process, Aman Virk was appointed as the Vice President.
The election was conducted under the supervision of the SDM Amritsar, and the administration made comprehensive security arrangements. With this election, all discussions and speculation surrounding the presidency have also come to an end
