पटियाला जिले के समाना हलके के अंतर्गत गांव फतेहपुर माजरी में पंजाब के मुख्यमंत्री भगवंत सिंह मान पहुंचे, जहां उन्होंने क्षेत्र के विकास को नई गति देने वाले कई अहम कदमों की शुरुआत की। इस दौरान मुख्यमंत्री ने लगभग 12 करोड़ रुपये की लागत से बनने वाले अत्याधुनिक खेल स्टेडियम का विधिवत शिलान्यास किया। यह खेल स्टेडियम आधुनिक सुविधाओं से लैस होगा, जिसमें युवाओं के लिए अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर की खेल सुविधाएं विकसित करने का लक्ष्य रखा गया है। सरकार का कहना है कि इस परियोजना से ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों की खेल प्रतिभाओं को बेहतर मंच मिलेगा और युवा नशे जैसी बुराइयों से दूर होकर खेलों की ओर प्रेरित होंगे। कार्यक्रम के दौरान बड़ी संख्या में स्थानीय लोग, युवा और जनप्रतिनिधि मौजूद रहे। पूरे इलाके में मुख्यमंत्री के आगमन को लेकर उत्साह का माहौल देखने को मिला। लोगों ने इस परियोजना को क्षेत्र के लिए एक महत्वपूर्ण विकास कदम बताया। मुख्यमंत्री भगवंत सिंह मान ने कहा कि राज्य सरकार का उद्देश्य पंजाब में खेल संस्कृति को मजबूत करना है और हर जिले में बेहतर खेल ढांचा तैयार करना प्राथमिकता में शामिल है। उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि ग्रामीण स्तर पर प्रतिभाओं को पहचानकर उन्हें राष्ट्रीय और अंतरराष्ट्रीय मंच तक पहुंचाने के लिए लगातार प्रयास किए जा रहे हैं।

The stadium will be equipped with modern facilities, with the goal of developing international-level sports infrastructure for the youth. The government stated that this project will provide a better platform for rural sports talent and encourage young people to move away from social evils such as drug abuse and towards sports.
