मौसम विभाग ने पंजाब के कई जिलों के लिए मौसम अलर्ट जारी किया है। अगले 24 घंटों के दौरान गरज-चमक के साथ बारिश, बिजली गिरने, ओलावृष्टि और तेज हवाओं की चेतावनी दी गई है। बदलते मौसम को देखते हुए कुछ क्षेत्रों में अस्थायी व्यवधान की आशंका जताई गई है।
मौसम विभाग के अनुसार फतेहगढ़ साहिब, गुरदासपुर, होशियारपुर, लुधियाना, मालेरकोटला, पठानकोट, पटियाला, रूपनगर, संगरूर, एस.ए.एस. नगर (मोहाली) और शहीद भगत सिंह नगर जिलों के कुछ इलाकों में गरज-चमक के साथ बारिश हो सकती है। कुछ स्थानों पर ओलावृष्टि की भी संभावना से इनकार नहीं किया गया है।
पूर्वानुमान में 40 से 50 किलोमीटर प्रति घंटे की रफ्तार से तेज हवाएं चलने की भी चेतावनी दी गई है, जिससे पेड़ों की टहनियां गिरने और रोजमर्रा की गतिविधियों में परेशानी हो सकती है। लोगों को सलाह दी गई है कि वे तूफान के दौरान घर के भीतर रहें और बिजली गिरने के समय खुले स्थानों या पेड़ों के नीचे खड़े होने से बचें।
नागरिकों से ढीली वस्तुओं को सुरक्षित रखने, सतर्क रहने और स्थानीय प्रशासन द्वारा जारी सुरक्षा निर्देशों का पालन करने की अपील की गई है। मौसम विभाग ने कहा है कि हालात के अनुसार आगे भी अपडेट जारी किए जाएंगे।

Punjab Weather Alert: Thunderstorms and Hailstorm Likely in Several Districts
The Meteorological Department has issued a weather alert for several districts of Punjab, predicting thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, hailstorm, and strong winds over the next 24 hours. The alert comes in view of changing weather conditions that may cause temporary disruptions in some areas.
According to the department, isolated places in districts including Fatehgarh Sahib, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Ludhiana, Malerkotla, Pathankot, Patiala, Rupnagar, Sangrur, S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali), and Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar are likely to witness thunder showers with lightning. In some locations, hailstorm activity cannot be ruled out.
The forecast also warns of gusty winds with speeds ranging between 40 to 50 kmph, which may lead to minor damage, falling branches, and inconvenience in daily activities. Residents are advised to stay indoors during thunderstorms and avoid open fields or sheltering under trees during lightning.
People have been urged to secure loose objects, remain alert, and follow safety advisories issued by local authorities. The Meteorological Department stated that further updates will be shared as weather conditions evolve.
