लुधियाना। लुधियाना की ऐतिहासिक जामा मस्जिद के बाहर मजलिस अहरार इस्लाम हिंद के नेतृत्व में बड़ी संख्या में लोगों ने पैगम्बर हजरत मुहम्मद (स.) की शान में कथित गुस्ताखी के विरोध में प्रदर्शन किया और आरोपित के खिलाफ कार्रवाई की मांग उठाई।
इस अवसर पर पंजाब के शाही इमाम मौलाना मुहम्मद उस्मान रहमानी लुधियानवी ने कहा कि सभी धर्मों का सम्मान बनाए रखना जरूरी है और धार्मिक भावनाओं को ठेस पहुंचाने वाली घटनाओं पर सरकार को सख्त कदम उठाने चाहिए। उन्होंने केंद्र और राज्य सरकार से मामले में उचित कार्रवाई की मांग की।
प्रदर्शन के दौरान राष्ट्रपति के नाम एक ज्ञापन एडीसी डॉ. नरेंद्र सिंह धालीवाल को सौंपा गया। विभिन्न मस्जिदों में जुमे की नमाज के बाद भी लोगों ने विरोध दर्ज कराया और धार्मिक सौहार्द बनाए रखने की अपील की।

Thousands of Muslims staged a protest outside Ludhiana’s Jama Masjid against the alleged disrespect shown towards Prophet Muhammad (PBUH); an effigy of Nazia Elahi was burned, and the Shahi Imam of Punjab demanded action.
Ludhiana: A large number of people gathered outside the historic Jama Masjid in Ludhiana under the leadership of Majlis Ahrar Islam Hind to protest against the alleged disrespect to Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). The protesters demanded legal action against the accused.
On the occasion, Punjab’s Shahi Imam, Maulana Muhammad Usman Rahmani Ludhianvi, said that respect for all religions must be upheld and that the government should take strict action against incidents that hurt religious sentiments. He urged both the Central and State governments to take appropriate action in the matter.
During the protest, a memorandum addressed to the President of India was submitted to Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Dr. Narendra Singh Dhaliwal. Following Friday prayers, people at various mosques also registered their protest and appealed for the maintenance of communal harmony and mutual respect among all communities.
