ਗੋਇੰਦਵਾਲ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸਥਿਤ ਬਾਬਾ ਫਰੀਦ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦੇ ਰੀਜਨਲ ਸੈਂਟਰ ਵਿੱਚ BSc ਨਰਸਿੰਗ ਦੀ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ 21 ਸਾਲਾ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣ ਦੀ ਲਾਸ਼ ਉਸਦੇ ਹੋਸਟਲ ਕਮਰੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਰਾਮਦ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ। ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਮਾਮਲਾ ਕਥਿਤ ਖੁਦਕੁਸ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਮ੍ਰਿਤਕ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣ ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ ਧੁਰਕੋਟ ਪਿੰਡ ਦੀ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਸੀ। ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਗਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਮਾਨਸਿਕ ਤੌਰ ‘ਤੇ ਤੰਗ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤ ਦੇਣ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਨਾ ਹੋਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣ ਤਣਾਅ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ।
ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਧਾਰਾ 174 ਤਹਿਤ ਮਾਮਲਾ ਦਰਜ ਕਰਕੇ ਜਾਂਚ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ। ਪੋਸਟਮਾਰਟਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਲਾਸ਼ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਸੌਂਪ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ।

BSc Nursing Student Found Dead in Hostel Room at Goindwal Sahib; Family Alleges Harassment by Teacher
A 21-year-old BSc Nursing student was found dead in her hostel room at the Regional Centre of Baba Farid University in Goindwal Sahib. Initial information suggests that the case may be related to an alleged suicide.
The deceased student was a resident of Dhurkot village in Ludhiana district. The family has alleged that a college teacher had been mentally harassing her and that no action was taken despite complaints to the principal, leaving the student under severe stress.
Police have registered a case under Section 174 and initiated an investigation. The body will be handed over to the family after the postmortem examination.
