Mango season in India has long been a symbol of summer, but climate change is now disrupting the agricultural cycle. In major producing states, unseasonal rains, rising temperatures, and strong winds are damaging flowering, fruit setting, and overall yield. According to experts, even a one-degree Celsius increase in temperature can reduce production by up to 11 percent. Heatwaves have further harmed crops, while also affecting the taste and quality of mangoes. In India, the world’s largest mango producer, both farmers and traders are facing increasing pressure.
