ਲੱਖਾਂ ਵੋਲੰਟੀਅਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪਿੰਡ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਮੇਟੀਆਂ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ, ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਜਨਤਾ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਵਾਲੀ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ
ਆਮ ਆਦਮੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ (AAP) ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਨਸ਼ਾ ਰੋਕਥਾਮ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ‘ਯੁੱਧ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ’ ਦਾ ਦੂਸਰਾ ਚਰਨ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਬੁੱਧਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਫਗਵਾੜਾ ਦੇ ਲਵਲੀ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਇਆ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ AAP ਦੇ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਸੰਯੋਜਕ ਅਰਵਿੰਦ ਕੇਜਰੀਵਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਭਗਵੰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੂਬੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਇੱਕਜੁਟ ਹੋਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਕੇਜਰੀਵਾਲ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਲੜਾਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੱਗੇ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਚਰਨ ਦੇ ਨਤੀਜੇ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਕੀਤੇ, ਜੋ ਮਾਰਚ 2025 ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। ਦਸ ਮਹੀਨਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਗਭਗ 28,000 ਕੇਸ NDPS ਐਕਟ ਹੇਠ ਦਰਜ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ 88% ਕੇਸਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਦਾਲਤਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੋਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੇਲ੍ਹ ਭੇਜਿਆ। ਲਗਭਗ 42,000 ਨਸ਼ਾ ਤਸਕਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁੱਖ ਤਸਕਰ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਨਸ਼ੇ ਦੇ ਪੈਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ ਜਾਇਦਾਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਢਾਹ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ।
ਦੂਸਰੇ ਚਰਨ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਵਾਲੀ ਲੜਾਈ ਬਣਾਉਣਾ ਹੈ। ਕੇਜਰੀਵਾਲ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪਿੰਡ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਮੇਟੀਆਂ (VDCs) ਬਣਾਈਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ 1.5 ਲੱਖ ਵੋਲੰਟੀਅਰ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਕਮੇਟੀਆਂ ਮੋਬਾਈਲ ਐਪ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੀਆਂ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਰਹਿਣਗੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਛਾਣ ਗੋਪਨੀਯ ਰੱਖਣਗੀਆਂ। ਲੋਕ ਵੀ ਇੱਕ ਖਾਸ ਨੰਬਰ ‘ਤੇ ਮਿਸਡ ਕਾਲ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ। 10 ਜਨਵਰੀ ਤੋਂ 30 ਜਨਵਰੀ ਤੱਕ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਦਯਾਤਰਾ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਜਾਣਗੀਆਂ, ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ 13 ਫਰਵਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੋਲੰਟੀਅਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਨਸ਼ਾ ਸਿਰਫ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਮੁੱਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਸਮੱਸਿਆ ਵੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਭਾਗੀਦਾਰੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਸਰਕਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਸ਼ਾ ਜਾਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਮਰਥਨ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਦੋਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਅਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਗਲਤੀਆਂ ਦੁਬਾਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਣਗੀਆਂ। ਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਨੀਤੀ ਅਪਣਾਈ ਹੈ, ਸਪਲਾਈ ਚੇਨ ਨੂੰ ਤੋੜਿਆ ਹੈ, ਬਾਰਡਰ ਨਿਗਰਾਨੀ ਵਧਾਈ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਲਾਜ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਨਰਵਾਸ ਸੁਵਿਧਾਵਾਂ ਫੈਲਾਈਆਂ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਨਸ਼ਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੀੜਤ ਸਮਝ ਕੇ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਉਂਸਲਿੰਗ ਅਤੇ ਰਿਹੈਬਿਲੀਟੇਸ਼ਨ ‘ਤੇ ਧਿਆਨ ਜਾਰੀ ਰਹੇਗਾ।
AAP ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਚਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ, ਰੋਕਥਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਰਿਹੈਬਿਲੀਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਤਰਜ਼ ਤੇ ਫੋਕਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਕਸਦ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਚੇਤ ਭਾਗੀਦਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਤਸਕਰਾਂ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਸ਼ੇ ਮੁਕਤ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇ।
Punjab Strengthens Anti-Drug Campaign with Launch of Second Phase of ‘Yudh Nashean Virudh’
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has launched the second phase of its anti-drugs campaign, called Yudh Nashean Virudh. The event took place on Wednesday at Lovely Professional University in Phagwara, with AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann urging people to join hands to fight drug abuse in the state.
Kejriwal said Punjab is leading the country in the fight against drugs. He shared the results of the first phase of the campaign, which began in March 2025. In ten months, nearly 28,000 cases were registered under the NDPS Act, with courts sending offenders to jail in about 88% of cases. Around 42,000 drug smugglers were arrested, including major traffickers, and properties built with drug money were demolished.
Phase II aims to make the campaign a people-led effort. Kejriwal said Village Defence Committees (VDCs) have been formed, with 1.5 lakh volunteers already participating. These committees will report drug-related activity through a mobile app while keeping their identity confidential. Citizens can also give a missed call to a dedicated number to join the campaign. Padyatras (foot marches) will be held across Punjab from January 10 to 30, followed by a large gathering of volunteers on February 13.
Chief Minister Mann said drugs are not only a crime issue but also a social problem that requires everyone’s participation. He blamed past governments for supporting drug networks and promised that such mistakes will not be repeated. Mann said the government has adopted a strict policy against drugs, disrupted supply chains, increased border surveillance with anti-drone systems, and expanded treatment and rehabilitation facilities. He emphasized that drug users should be treated as victims and assured continuous support for counselling and rehabilitation.
AAP leaders said Phase II will focus on enforcement, prevention, and rehabilitation equally. Their goal is to make Punjab completely free from drugs through active public participation and strong action against traffickers.
