पंजाब के फतेहगढ़ साहिब जिले के सरहिंद इलाके में शुक्रवार रात करीब 11 बजे नई रेलवे लाइन पर गुजर रही एक मालगाड़ी को निशाना बनाकर जोरदार विस्फोट किया गया। धमाके से रेलवे ट्रैक का लगभग 3–4 फीट हिस्सा क्षतिग्रस्त हो गया।
प्रारंभिक जांच में आरडीएक्स जैसे शक्तिशाली विस्फोटक के इस्तेमाल की आशंका जताई जा रही है। घटना के बाद इलाके में दहशत का माहौल बन गया। स्थानीय लोग सुरक्षित स्थानों की ओर भागते नजर आए।
पुलिस और रेलवे अधिकारियों ने मौके पर पहुंचकर जांच शुरू कर दी है। इसे सुनियोजित साजिश माना जा रहा है और आतंकी एंगल की भी जांच की जा रही है।
एक आशंका यह भी जताई जा रही है कि यह विस्फोट 77वें गणतंत्र दिवस के उत्सव को बाधित करने की तैयारी या कोशिश हो सकती है। प्रशासन ने सुरक्षा कड़ी कर दी है और इलाके में सतर्कता बढ़ा दी गई है।

Police and railway officials reached the site immediately and have begun a thorough investigation. The incident is being treated as a planned conspiracy, and authorities are also investigating a potential terrorist angle.
There is also speculation that this explosion could have been an attempt to disrupt the celebrations of the 77th Republic Day. Security measures have been tightened, and vigilance in the area has been increased.
