लुधियाना शहर में एलपीजी सिलेंडर पहुंचाने वाले डिलीवरी कर्मियों पर बढ़ते हमलों और चोरी की घटनाओं को लेकर गंभीर चिंता जताई जा रही है। इस मुद्दे को लेकर आज पुलिस आयुक्त को एक लिखित शिकायत सौंपी गई, जिसमें दिनदहाड़े हो रही वारदातों और लगातार बढ़ रहे मामलों का विस्तृत उल्लेख किया गया है।
शिकायत के अनुसार 26 जनवरी 2026 से अब तक महज 25 दिनों के भीतर 24 से अधिक घटनाएं सामने आ चुकी हैं। इन मामलों में डिलीवरी कर्मियों के साथ मारपीट, लूटपाट और गैस सिलेंडरों की चोरी जैसी घटनाएं शामिल हैं। यह घटनाएं शहर के विभिन्न इलाकों में हुई हैं, जिससे डिलीवरी कर्मियों में भय और असुरक्षा का माहौल बना हुआ है।
पुलिस आयुक्त ने इस गंभीर विषय को संज्ञान में लेते हुए आश्वासन दिया है कि दोषियों की पहचान कर उनके खिलाफ 24 से 48 घंटों के भीतर सख्त कार्रवाई की जाएगी। उन्होंने कहा कि शहर में कानून व्यवस्था बनाए रखना उनकी प्राथमिकता है और ऐसे मामलों को बिल्कुल भी बर्दाश्त नहीं किया जाएगा।
एलपीजी डिलीवरी कर्मियों ने बताया कि वे रोजाना अलग-अलग क्षेत्रों में काम करने के दौरान खुद को असुरक्षित महसूस कर रहे हैं। कई कर्मचारियों को इन हमलों में चोटें आई हैं, जबकि कुछ को आर्थिक नुकसान भी उठाना पड़ा है। लगातार हो रही इन घटनाओं से उनके परिवारों में भी चिंता का माहौल है।
शिकायत में यह भी कहा गया है कि एलपीजी डिलीवरी कर्मी समाज की एक महत्वपूर्ण कड़ी हैं। यही कर्मी दिन-रात मेहनत कर हर घर की रसोई तक जरूरी ईंधन पहुंचाते हैं। ऐसे में उनकी सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित करना प्रशासन की प्राथमिक जिम्मेदारी होनी चाहिए, ताकि वे बिना भय के अपना कार्य कर सकें।

Rising Attacks on LPG Delivery Workers in Ludhiana; 24 Incidents in 25 Days, Police Assure Action Within 48 Hours
Serious concerns are being raised in Ludhiana over the increasing incidents of attacks and theft targeting LPG cylinder delivery workers. A written complaint was submitted to the Police Commissioner today, detailing the daylight assaults and the steady rise in such cases.
According to the complaint, more than 24 incidents have been reported within just 25 days, from January 26, 2026, until now. These cases include physical assault, robbery, and theft of LPG cylinders. The incidents have occurred in various parts of the city, creating an atmosphere of fear and insecurity among delivery workers.
Taking note of the gravity of the matter, the Police Commissioner assured that strict action would be taken against the culprits within 24 to 48 hours after their identification. He stated that maintaining law and order in the city is a top priority and such incidents will not be tolerated.
LPG delivery workers shared that they feel unsafe while working in different areas of the city. Several workers have suffered injuries during these attacks, while others have faced financial losses. The continuous incidents have also created anxiety among their family members.
The complaint emphasized that LPG delivery workers are an essential link in society. They work tirelessly day and night to deliver cooking fuel to households. Therefore, ensuring their safety should be a priority for the administration so that they can perform their duties without fear.
