Ludhiana में बाल भिक्षावृत्ति पर रोक लगाने के लिए जिला टास्क फोर्स ने सख्त कदम उठाए हैं। उपायुक्त Himanshu Jain के दिशा-निर्देशों के तहत ‘जीवनजोत प्रोजेक्ट’ के अंतर्गत एक विशेष जागरूकता अभियान चलाया गया।
इस अभियान के दौरान भइवाला चौक, 200 फीट रोड, दुगरी फेज-1 और फेज-2, फूलांवाल चौक सहित आसपास के क्षेत्रों में चेकिंग की गई। जिला टास्क फोर्स ने भइवाला चौक से भीख मांग रहे 5 बच्चों को रेस्क्यू किया।
जिला बाल संरक्षण अधिकारी Rashmi ने बताया कि रेस्क्यू किए गए बच्चों को चाइल्ड वेलफेयर कमेटी के समक्ष पेश किया गया। काउंसलिंग के बाद बच्चों को अनाथालय में शिफ्ट किया गया, ताकि उन्हें सुरक्षित वातावरण और शिक्षा उपलब्ध करवाई जा सके।
अभियान के दौरान दुकानदारों और स्थानीय लोगों को जागरूक किया गया कि वे छोटे बच्चों को भीख न दें, बल्कि उन्हें शिक्षा से जोड़ने में सहयोग करें। आम जनता को यह भी स्पष्ट किया गया कि 18 वर्ष से कम आयु के बच्चों से भीख मंगवाना कानूनन अपराध है।
जिला बाल संरक्षण अधिकारी ने कहा कि इस तरह की औचक जांच आगे भी जारी रहेगी, ताकि लुधियाना को बाल भिक्षावृत्ति से मुक्त बनाया जा सके।

Strict Action Against Child Begging in Ludhiana, 5 Children Rescued Under Jeevanjot Project
In Ludhiana, the District Task Force has intensified its efforts to curb child begging. As per the guidelines issued by Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain, a special awareness and checking campaign was conducted under the Jeevanjot Project.
During the drive, inspections were carried out at Bhaiwala Chowk, 200 Feet Road, Dugri Phase-1 and Phase-2, Phulanwal Chowk and other nearby areas. Five children found begging near Bhaiwala Chowk were rescued by the team.
District Child Protection Officer Rashmi stated that the rescued children were presented before the Child Welfare Committee. After proper counselling, they were shifted to an orphanage to ensure their safety, care, and access to education.
The Child Protection Unit also appealed to shopkeepers and residents not to give alms to minor children and instead support efforts to connect them with education. It was clarified that forcing or allowing children below 18 years of age to beg is a punishable offense under the law.
Officials further informed that such surprise inspections and awareness campaigns will continue in the future to make Ludhiana free from child begging.
