ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਸਟੂਡੈਂਟਸ ਵਿਚ ਉਦਯਮੀ ਸੋਚ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਰੋਬਾਰੀ ਕੌਸ਼ਲ ਵਧਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਨਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਇਨੋਵੇਟਿਵ ਕੋਰਸ “ਬਿਜ਼ਨਸ ਕਲਾਸ” ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਦੇ ਰੋਜ਼ਗਾਰ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਦਦ ਕਰੇਗਾ। ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਉਚਤ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਸਥਾਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ 2025‑26 ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਤੋਂ ਲਾਗੂ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਦੀਆਂ ਸਰਗਰਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਪਾਸੇ ਵੱਡੀ ਤਰਫੀ ਮਿਲ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਇਸ ਕੋਰਸ ਦੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤੀ ਪੜਾਅ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਲਗਭਗ 1.5 ਲੱਖ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ 20 ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀਆਂ, 320 ITIs ਅਤੇ 91 ਪਾਲੀਟੈਕਨਿਕ ਸਥਾਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਇਸ ਰੋਜ਼ਗਾਰਕ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਗ ਲੈ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਡਿਜੀਟਲ ਪਲੇਟਫ਼ਾਰਮ “Punjab Startup App” ਨਾਲ ਵੀ ਜੋੜਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਤਿੰਨ ਭਾਸ਼ਾਵਾਂ – ਪੰਜਾਬੀ, ਹਿੰਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ – ਵਿੱਚ ਉਪਲਬਧ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਐਪ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਰੋਬਾਰ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ, ਮਾਰਕੀਟਿੰਗ, ਵਿੱਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਵੇਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਨ ਦੀ ਸਹੂਲਤ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
“ਬਿਜ਼ਨਸ ਕਲਾਸ” ਵਿੱਚ ਹਰ ਸੈਮਿਸਟਰ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਨਵੀਂ ਕਾਰੋਬਾਰੀ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੋਟੋਟਾਈਪ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਹ ਇਸਨੂੰ ਅਸਲ ਬਜ਼ਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਾਂਚ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਮਾਈ ਵੀ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਅਭਿਆਸਕ ਤਜਰਬੇ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਕਾਗਜ਼ੀ ਡਿਗੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਆ ਕੇ ਅਸਲ ਕਾਰੋਬਾਰ ਦੀ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਨਾਲ ਰੁਬਰੂ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਸਕੀਮ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਵਪਾਰਕ ਸੋਚ ਨੂੰ ਜੋੜਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਇੱਕ ਅਹੰਕਾਰਸ਼ੀਲ ਦੌੜ ਹੈ।
ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਹੁਣ ਹਰ ਕਾਲਜ ਕਲਾਸਰੂਮ ਇੱਕ ਛੋਟੇ ਉਦਯੋਗ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਬਣ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਇੱਕ ਸੰਭਾਵੀ ਉਦਯੋਗਪਤੀ ਬਣ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦਾ ਲਕਸ਼ ਹੈ ਕਿ 2028‑29 ਤੱਕ ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ 5 ਲੱਖ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਤੱਕ ਫੈਲ ਜਾਵੇ।
ਮਾਹਿਰ ਮੰਨਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਕੋਰਸ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਵੀਨਤਾ, ਸਵੈ‑ਰੋਜ਼ਗਾਰ ਦੀ ਸੋਚ ਅਤੇ ਆਤਮ‑ਨਿਰਭਰਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਗਰੂਕ ਕਰੇਗਾ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਨਵੇਂ ਬਿਜ਼ਨਸ ਮਾਡਲ ਤੇ ਰੋਜ਼ਗਾਰ ਸਿਰਜਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਪੇਂਡੂ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰੀ ਭਾਗੀਂ ਆਰਥਿਕ ਗਤੀਸ਼ੀਲਤਾ ਵਧੇਗੀ।
The Punjab government has launched an innovative course called “Business Class” aimed at fostering entrepreneurial skills among students and preparing them to become future job creators rather than job seekers. This initiative, rolled out from the 2025‑26 academic session across colleges, universities, ITIs, and polytechnic institutes in the state, is drawing widespread attention for its practical approach to education and business learning.
In the initial phase, around 150,000 students from 20 universities, 320 Industrial Training Institutes, and 91 polytechnic colleges have enrolled in the program. The government has also introduced a digital platform called the Punjab Startup App, available in Punjabi, Hindi, and English. The app provides guidance on business planning, marketing strategies, financial management, and connects students with potential investors, bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world business execution.
Under the “Business Class” program, students are required to develop a new business idea each semester, create a working prototype, and launch it in the real market to earn revenue. This hands-on experience helps students move beyond theoretical learning and engage directly with the business world. The initiative links education with entrepreneurship in a practical, result-oriented manner.
Punjab’s Chief Minister has emphasized that every college classroom can now become a mini-startup hub, and each student has the potential to be a future entrepreneur. The government aims to expand this program to reach over 500,000 students by 2028‑29.
Experts believe that the Business Class initiative will awaken innovation, self-employment mindset, and self-reliance among students, leading to the creation of new business models and boosting economic activity in both rural and urban areas. By equipping the next generation with entrepreneurial skills, Punjab is positioning itself to become a center of innovation, job creation, and economic growth.
